The Guide to Schools is an annual magazine created by New Wave Media in order to educate parents on the different school choices in the area for their children. It provides people with information and articles spotlighting various issues in the world of education.

Challenge:

The Guide to Schools website would be created as an online resource connected to our magazine. The idea is to provide a site that would allow for users to have easy navigation and find the information they need. Both the magazine and the website are a resource for parents, and our challenge is to create the site in the same vein as our magazine. The idea of this website is that it would be an online version of our magazine and help to build a community, allowing parents to interact with each other and the schools they wish to contact.

Solution:

The Guide to Schools website’s main focus is on the online schools portal and its capabilities, links, articles and social networking tools. Any parent can type in information and get the schools they are looking for. To echo our print version, the website has articles and educational information, similar design and imagery, and there are also archives on the site of old articles and a custom blog for parents to interact.
